'Digital' studies in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The school education is going to be digital from the basic level in Kerala. The Education Department has decided to lecture 1 to 7 classes in Information Technology (ICT) in 9,279 public schools in the state. In this way, the Internet is providing Internet and other advanced technical facilities. On the other hand, the government has also provided adequate training for teachers. Kerala Education Minister C Ravindranath said that this policy will be implemented as part of IT 'program from June 1 this year to make it part of IT in classrooms. 
As part of this, the Kerala State Education Department has introduced the ICT textbook for the education of 5 to 7 classes, as well as the operating system, resource DVDs for primary schools. All schools will have computer labs and smart classrooms, the minister said. According to IT-school program EDI, 70,602 teachers were trained by ICT. It has revealed that the 8,918 schools have been contracted with BSNL to provide broadband. In Kerala already (since 2005), the ICT-based education system is offered from 8 to 10 classes.
