Modi praised environmental efforts to clean up the Mumbai beach

New Delhi, May 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised environmental activist Afroz Shah on Sunday, praising his work to clean the Versova's beach to Mumbai. "I heartily congratulate Afroz Shah and his entire team for their efforts in cleaning Mumbai's Versova beach," Modi said in his 'Mann ki Baat' radio address. He began to purge Versova in October 2015, and later praised Shah's efforts to become a public movement. 
Versova beach has now been transformed into a clean and beautiful beach, he said. UN Environment Program Shaku awarded "Champion of the Earth" award. This is the first Indian to receive this honor. The Prime Minister also praised the people and the local administration in the Razi district of Jammu and Kashmir to get rid of the open failure under Swachch Bharat campaign.
