Following UK surge AIIMS Chief warns to be prepared for any Eventuality

On November 26, the WHO named the Omicron variant as B.1.1.529. The Omicron was first detected in South Africa. The WHO classified Omicron as a variant of Concern.


The UK's situation is bad as Omicron cases surge. More than 10,000 Omicron cases are being registered daily. AIIMS Chief Randeep Guleria said that India should prepare itself for any eventuality. India has reported 100 cases of Omicron so far.
