The Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished a part of Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi’s bungalow at Vervosa. As per BMC’s point that a part of that bungalow was constructed illegally. After four years alleged illegality came under the BMC scanner they took this decision of demolishing his bungalow. As per the sources Arshad and his wife reportedly bought the bungalow in 2012 from a retired Air India captain. After that, while renovating the property, the actor, said sources, allegedly carried out the illegal construction. Later society members complained to BMC about the illegal-addition. In 2013, when BMC decided to remove the illegal addition, the actor got stay from court. Recently few months before the court lifted the stay orders and BMC proceeded to demolish the bungalow.
As the Bangalow is locked, they just did demolish markings. The actual Demolish will be done after sending one more prior notice to the actor. As per the neighbouring sources, it is said that an extra floor is constructed in the illegal manner and society have informed it to BMC. Versova ward officer Prashant Gaikwad stated that they will send one notice to him again and will remove the illegal floor. BMC also examined other bungalow after it was informed that many others have carried all such illegal construction in that area.
There is no update from Actor Arshad. But he accepted that he got this issue into his notice. We should wait and see how Arshad is going to react on this issue. He may bring stay order again. Chances are 50-50.
