Appealed to Dutch investors German industrialists to invest in the state

The Hague (Netherlands) June 21 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday appealed to Dutch investors along with Italian and German industrialists to invest in the state.

Addressing a business meet with VNO-NCW, the largest business chamber in the Netherlands, she said: "Come to Bengal and ride the growth because the state has the sustainable development in every angle. The state has improved a lot after the 34 year of the Left (Front) leadership. We have our land bank and introduced e-governance. There is transparency and credentiality."

Banerjee is in the Netherlands to participate in the United Nations Public Service Forum as a speaker.

Describing the state as the gateway of India's northeastern region and Southeast Asia, she, once again, requested the investors to come in the eastern state of India. 

Showcasing the state as the investments' destination, Banerjee said the growth of state's gross domestic product, agricultural and industrial growth is higher than that of India's average.

She also mentioned the state has the strength in steel, MSME, food processing, diary, leather, manufacturing sector and also said the state has the second largest financial hub in India.

Asking "Dutch friends" to invest at the hub, she described the state as the capital of talent and asked them to come there.

The Bengal government had already a memorandum of association with the Royal Netherlands Football Association to spot, groom and train young football talent in the state.
