Messi Tax fraud case swaps to fine from Prison

Argentine professional football player Lionel Messi was found guilty of tax fraud in july, 2016 over hidden money. He was given 21 month prision sentence. But he did not go to prision. Reports says that Messi is ready to pay an increased amount of fine instead of being in prision for 21 months. He was found guilty along with his father for frauding Spanish authorities out of millions of Euros after hiding earnings from image rights in offshore accounts. He was given 21 months in prison, however this was suspended by Spanish Court as they law allows the first-time offenders like Messi. Messi agreed to pay increased fine of 255,000 euros ($285,116) instead of imprisonment. Messi attended Barcelona court on Friday.
