First woman officer becomes Captain of The Queen's Guard

Megan Couto  became the first female infantry officer to command the troops protecting Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace as a Canadian battalion soidier.
Captain Megan Couto, 24, said it was a great prestigious role of Captain of The Queen's Guard, responsible for changing of the Guard ceremony at the London palace.
"I'm feeling a little bit of healthy stress but feeling not too nervous," Couto  told Reuters before marching her troops from the Second Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, from nearby barracks to Buckingham Palace.
The Second Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry has been invited to Britain to mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of modern Canada.one of the 15 nations in addition to the United Kingdom which has the 91-year-old queen as head of state.
"This is definitely a big deal for us.No female infantry officers had ever had the role of Captain of the Queen's Guard before Couto.
