Kolkata, June 30 (SURYAA) Former India leg-spinner and Bengal coach Sairaj Bahutule on Friday said middle-order batsman Sudip Chatterjee should make the most of his India A call-up, hoping the southpaw will don the India senior team colours soon.

"Sudip has got a chance and he should make the most of it. He is very talented and hopefully he will play for the country soon," Bahutule told reporters at the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) here.

Chatterjee fared well during Bengal's Ranji Trophy campaign last season, aggregating 557 runs in seven matches, the second best after skipper Manoj Tiwary's 643.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee met on Thursday to pick the India A team for the upcoming tour of South Africa to be held over July and August. Chatterjee has been named in the Test squad which will be led by Karun Nair.

In South Africa, the India A team will play a One-Day tri-series also involving Australia and two four-day matches.

The 44-year old Bahutule, who played two Tests and eight One-Day Internationals for India, had a meeting with CAB president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly ahead of the new Ranji Trophy season.

Asked if more players from Bengal should have been selected for the India A series, he said: "I think Manoj Tiwary, Ashok Dinda should have been given a chance. They have been performing well. Manoj also had a very good Indian Premier League (IPL)."

Bengal will hold a camp in Alur, which is in Hassan district of Karnataka from July ahead of the domestic season. Bengal reached the quarter-final last season, finishing runners-up in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
