serial blasts Accused Tariq Ahmed Dar gets 10-year jail term

New Delhi: The Patiala House Court gave its verdict in the 2005 Delhi bombing case on Thursday. The court sentenced, Tariq Ahmed Dar with a jail term of 10 years.The other accused in the serial blasts, Mohammed Rafiq Shah and Mohammed Hussain Fazili were acquitted of all charges.The 2005 bomb blasts claimed more than 62 lives and injured more than 200 people.Just 2 days before Diwali, on 29th October 2005, a series of bomb blasts shook three areas in Delhi  Paharganj market, Govindpuri and Sarojini Nagar market.


Sarojini Nagar was the worst hit area with 43 casualties and 28 injured people.Delhi Police chargesheeted Dar, mentioning his call details that allegedly proved he was in touch with Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives.The court in 2008 framed charges against Dar, the alleged mastermind, and the other two for waging war against the state, including conspiracy, collecting arms, murder and attempt to murder.
