Dattareya: Labour laws to be amalgamated, simplified and rationalised

New Delhi, July 6 (SURYAA) Union Labour and Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Thursday said that the government plans to amalgamate, simplify and rationalise the 44 labour laws.

"Out of 44 labour laws, we are going to amalgamate, simplify and rationalise them into four...," he said while addressing an ASSOCHAM summit on ‘Second Auto Forum and Awards 2017' here.

Dattatreya also said that the government plans to create 65 million jobs by 2026.

He further said the government recognises the importance of skilling the workforce, and it has has allocated Rs 16,000 crore for skill development.

Dattatreya further said that industry should focus more on social security of employees to increase productivity.
