Team india Coach Anil Kumble heaps praises on Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni

Hyderabad feb 17 : Indian cricket is going through a great phase at the moment with last three Test series at home landing in India’s kitty, Virat Kohli’s team India has emerged out not only as the number 1 Test side but also a dominating force in world cricket.

Indian coach Anil Kumble could not stop himself from praising Virat Kohli while talking to the press on Thursday. He said, “Virat Kohli, brilliance. I think one word is very difficult (to describe him). I have seen him develop from a 19-year-old, who walked into Royal Challengers (Bangalore) first time after he won the (U-19) World Cup as a captain, to the transformation that you see now, it’s been brilliant. To see someone that passionate, that kind of motivation and dedication he has,” Kumble said, addressing the annual NILF at suburban Vakola.”

India’s most successful bowler in terms of number of wickets taken, also lauded former Indian captain MS Dhoni for tirelessly working for continuous 10 years as captain. He said, “And similarly with M S (Dhoni), coming from Ranchi, nobody expected that someone from Ranchi would be leading the country. And the way he has led the (team), 10 years as a captain, it’s extremely difficult. But to be Indian captain for 10 years is something unheard of and hats off to the way he conducted himself as a captain of the team. He was perfect ambassador for the sport.”

Being a coach is not an easy thing. Kumble is someone who always was looking for an opportunity to play for India. Now that he has the job of telling players that they are not playing has become very difficult for him. May be because he puts himself in their shoes before saying it. He said, “The most difficult job as a coach is to tell a player that you are not playing or you are not in the squad. But you have to take those hard decisions.”

It’s been 8 months now since Kumble joined the team as full-time coach and he has done a fantabulous job in this role. Losing just one series and winning 7 series across all formats. The upcoming Test series against Australia is a big task and Kumble will have a lot of talking to do to the players. This, after all, is Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
