People want the leadership of Narendra Modi government for a long time, says Amit Shah

Hyderabad Feb 18 : Bjp president Amit Shah has today said that the Narendra Modi Government will not only complete the present five-year term but will also last long in years to come. Speaking to ‘The Indian Express’ in an exclusive interview, he said that the people of the country want the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.


Talking about the Uttar Pradesh elections, the BJP president said that once his party forms government in the state, it will work tirelessly to remove poverty, which will help the country. He also added that his party’s win in UP will be a big boon for the country. When asked about the BJP’s poll strategy in which the prime minister is pitted against chief ministers, when he is pitted against them during Assembly polls, Amit Shah said, there was nothing wrong in it as Narendra Modi is the supreme leader of the party and it is the responsibility of a prime minister to talk to the people of the country.


During the interview, talking about UP polls, he also said that the even while it was difficult to predict, but BSP may have come close to BJP in the first and second phase of the polls. He also said that even after his fiery speech during Bihar Assembly polls in which he had spoken aboy “firecrackers in Pakistan”, he has not at all mellowed down. Talking on the issue he said that he doesn’t do politics covertly but do it with guts, as the party doesn’t have any policy which is needed to be covert.


While speaking about the Narendra Modi Government in the Centre, BJP president added that in a survey conducted by the party, 26% people said demonetisation is a big achievement and 31% appreciated Ujjwala gas project. In every survey, the BJP get support for Notebandi. “Aap log hawa main hai”, he added.
