NEW DELHI Feb 20 : The i10 and the i20 have been great successes for Hyundai in India. The Koreans however have never shown much intent on getting the 'sequel' to the small and the hatchback cars. Nonetheless, there is much buzz about the i30 wagon - a glimpse of which was shown ahead of the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The teaser image released gives subtle nuances of the latest edition coming up. Reports suggest that the 2017 i30 will keep practicality and increased space as its main parameters. "The New Generation i30 Wagon speaks the language of the i30 family in terms of design, and it carries the new Hyundai family identity - the Cascading Grille," Thomas Burkle, Chief Designer at Hyundai Design Centre Europe, was quoted as saying. "The tapering roofline and the dynamic proportions give the Wagon an almost coupe-like silhouette. The sleek and dynamic profile is further emphasised by a rich chrome frame surrounding the side windows."

The new i30 is expected to get a new steering, panoramic glass sunroof and an eight-inch touchscreen.First introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007, the i30 did brisk business in Europe, North America and Australia in subsequent years.

The current i30 on roads in Europe, North America and Australia.Much like the i20, the i30 managed to get rave reviews after safety tests - making it even more attractive. Surprisingly though, the car has not touched Indian shores yet and there is no word from the company to this regard either.
