Bahrain : Ethiopian Airlines to resume services

Rabat, July 24 (Suryaa)  After a six-year absence from Bahrain From August, Ethiopian Airlines said  it will resume its services to Manama.


The company will offer three flights a week between its base in Addis Ababa-Bole and Manama airport, operated via Dammam in Saudi Arabia.  It said that Bahrain, "a nation composed of more than 30 islands in the Persian Gulf, has been at the centre of the main trade routes since years and has experienced a growing economy over the last decade". 

"With the flourishing trade relationship between Ethiopia and the Gulf countries, the availability of efficient air transport services will surely play an important role in ensuring the movement of people and goods from imported exports," said Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde GebreMariam. 

"Our presence in Bahrain dates back to the 1970s and we are pleased to be back with three weekly scheduled flights," he said. 

Ethiopian Airlines now serves "the main cities of the Middle East", including Beirut, Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, Kuwait, Doha, Dubai, Muscat and Sharjah.
