Quit India literature banned by British showcased

New Delhi, Aug 9 : Indian independence literature, including from the Quit India movement of 1942, which the British had banned can now be read at the National Archives of India.
An exhibition tiled "Quit India and Azad Hind Fauj - 75th Anniversary (1942-2017)" was inaugurated by Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma on Wednesday.
The exhibition highlights public records, private papers, photographs, newspaper reports and some original papers that describe the intense phase of the Quit India Movement.
The exhibition also has large digital content which can be accessed through interactive mode. A film presenting the passing of the "Quit India Resolution", the arrest of independence leaders and the role of INA and Subhas Chandra Bose are also on display.
Spread over four sections -- 'The Prelude to Quit India Movement', 'The Actual Movement', 'The Impact of the Movement' and 'The Indian National Army and Azad Hind Fauj' -- the exhibition will continue till September 1.
"Quit India movement was an important milestone in the Indian freedom movement which made the entire nation determined to attain freedom from the British rule. Millions of Indians responded to Mahatma Gandhi's clarion call and the mantra of ‘Do or Die'," Sharma said at the event.
