Sharjah ruler on five-day visit to Kerala from Sep 24

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 16 : Sharjah's Ruler and member of UAE's Supreme Council, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, will arrive in Kerala on a five-day official visit starting September 24, an official statement here said.

He will take part in meetings organised by the Kerala government and also will have business meetings too, said a Kerala government statement here.

The statement said the Sharjah's ruler will arrive here on September 24 at 4 p.m., and the next day, will call on Governor, Justice (retd) P.Sathasivam. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other top officials will also be present on the occasion.

After that, he will meet up with the state cabinet over lunch and in the evening he will interact with the cream of the civil society of the state and also the successful Kerala businessmen who have made it big in the Middle East.

On September 26, the Calicut University will confer honorary doctorate to the visiting dignitary at a function to be held in Kozhikode.

The next day morning he arrives at Kochi where he will hold discussions with business honchos before returning to Sharjah on Thursday.
