Delhi records hot day, but rain likely in coming days

New Delhi, Sep 19 : Delhi recorded a hot day on Tuesday with a maximum temperature of 36.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, though respite is on the way from Thursday, the weatherman said.

Light to moderate rain is likely from Thursday night onwards and expected to continue for a few days.

"Delhi will see rain from Thursday night till Sunday," said Mahesh Palawat, Director of private weather forecasting agency Skymet.

The minimum temperature on Tuesday was 25.6 degrees, a notch above the season's average. 

According to the Met office, Wednesday will be as warm and humid as Tuesday, with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 36 degrees.

"The sky will be generally cloudy on Wednesday," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The humidity on Tuesday oscillated between 44 and 75 per cent.

Monday's maximum and minimum temperatures were 34 degrees and 25.2 degrees respectively.
