New Delhi, Dec 11 : The national capital saw drizzling at most places on Monday with the weather office saying the light rain showers will continue till Wednesday in the region.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain showers will occur in the Haryana-Chandigarh division of which Delhi is a part.

The rainfall will also bring down the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR.

"The drizzle was too low to be mapped, which means less than 5mm. It did rain at most places in the entire region for short intervals. On Tuesday the drizzling would drop from most places," an official at IMD told IANS.

On Monday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 8.2 degree Celsius, a notch below the season's average while the maximum temperature was recorded at 27.2 degrees, three notches above the season's average.

According to IMD, on Tuesday the minimum temperature is likely to hover around 10 degrees while the maximum will be around 23 degrees Celsius.

According to Met, isolated places in Punjab and North-Haryana will see heavy rainfall on Monday night, while Jammu region can see hailstorms.

"There is possibility of hailstorms in Jammu region and lower regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand," IMD officials said.
