Jaipur, Dec 12 : Representatives of the Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karamchari Sanyukt Sangarsh Samiti continued with their 48-hour hunger strike on Tuesday at district headquarters across Rajasthan, while many state government employees boycotted work, to press their demands which include implementing the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations from January 1, 2016.

Those who supported the Samiti leaders sitting on hunger strike included employees from the secretariat, state insurance, collectorate, health department, pensions department and many more. Many employees also staged protest by being inside their offices and boycotting work to stage pen down, tool down protest.

On Wednesday, these employees will mark their presence in their offices and then boycott work to stage massive protests at district headquarters.

Their agenda will be to highlight the "failures" of the ruling BJP in Rajasthan as the government is all set to celebrate the completion of four years in office, said Gajendra Singh Rathore, convener of Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karamchari Sanyukt Sangarsh Samiti.

Warning the government of serious consequences, he said the hunger strike will end at 2 p.m. on Wednesday after which protests will be staged and later on a memorandum in the name of the Chief Minister will be submitted to district collectors through the state.

The strategy for the next phase of protest will be chalked out later, he added.
