Iain Hume convinced me to join ISL: ATK's Ryan Taylor

Kolkata :  Just-signed ATK midfielder Ryan Taylor on Thursday revealed that Kerala Blasters player Iain Hume convinced him to join the Indian Super League (ISL).

"We have known each other for 14 years. He had only good words to say about the league. He convinced me to join the league. He has his family but he comes this far away to play and still loves it", Taylor told reporters. 

ATK, buoyant after their first win of the season against Mumbai City FC, take on Delhi Dynamos at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Saturday.

"Hopefully we will push on and get some more wins in the next few games. We have everybody fit now. So we can show everybody what the team is all about and what we are made of," Taylor said.

The biggest drawback, Taylor said, was his side not converting their chances.

"We need to start converting the chances. We started playing a little cagey after the goal in the last game. We should be more precise in front of goal," the former Newcastle United defensive midfielder added.

Taylor replaced injured Carl Baker in the defending champions' squad.

Taylor also said he got his insights about ATK from Hume who was in the Kolkata franchise last year.

"He speaks very highly of everyone in ATK. He said about how the fans fill up the stadium for every game. That's what drew me here."

ATK are eighth on the points table with just five points from five matches.
