Chennai, Jan 25 : Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has named his tour of Tamil Nadu starting on February 21 as "Naalai Namadhe" (Tomorrow is Ours).

In his column in Tamil magazine Ananda Vikatan, Haasan said he had tweeted a lot but did not get any results from the government and hence he had decided to get into the field himself.

The actor said he and his fan clubs had decided to adopt villages and carry out developmental works which would showcase what he and his fan club members were capable of.

He said the attempt was to turn those adopted villages into model villages.

"People are migrating from villages to cities. Our attempt is to provide the facilities available in the cities in villages so that the migration stops."

According to him, to start with they would adopt one village and carry out development activities there.

"It is not enough to provide laptops to students, but they also need to be taught to use it," he added.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, the actor said: "Tamizh Thail Vazthu" or song in praise of Mother Tamil should be sung only at proper places.

Queried about Kanchipuram Sankara Mutt's Junior Pontiff Sankara Vijayendra Sarasvati not standing up when the "Tamizh Thai Vazthu" was sung at a function here, Haasan said the seer's duty might be to mediate and his (actor's) duty was to stand up.
