Hardik Patel meets Mamata, promises to campaign for her in 2019 Lok Sabha elections

When asked about Hardik's hopes to unite the opposition under her leadership, Mamata remarked they were already acting on it.

Patidar leader Hardik Patel today met Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkota.

"It was a good meeting. He is like my younger brother. He is very political and also very sensitive. He is fighting for the people of Gujarat which is very good. I wish him all the best," said Mamata after the meeting.

When asked if she gave him any advice, Mamata said that she requested him to join politics.

"I requested him to join politics because political people only make policy decisions. So it will be the right choice for him to join politics," said Mamata.

When asked about Hardik's hopes to unite the opposition under her leadership, Mamata remarked they were already acting on it.

Patel also promised to campaign for Mamata in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Hardik told Mamata that he will come to Kolkata to campaign for her in the next Lok Sabha elections, as reported by ANI.

After the meeting, Patel commended Mamata and compared her to Lady Gandhi. In a tweet, Hardik said that Mamata blessed him for his future.

Some unverified reports also suggested that Mamata had invited him to join the TMC.

However, Patel later said that their discussion did not involve any political agreements. He said that he is not a political leader but an agitator.
