New Delhi, Feb 12 : With snowfall in the northern states, the mercury in the national capital is set to fall by two to three degrees over next two days, the Met Department said.

On Monday, the minimum temperature saw a rise to 13 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average while the maximum saw fall to 21.2 degrees, two notches below the average.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), due to cold and dry north-westerly winds, Delhi will see drop in temperature with mercury likely to drop to eight degrees towards Wednesday.

"The minimum temperature on Tuesday is likely to be 11 degrees, maximum is likely to hover around 24 degrees," an IMD official said.

According to private weather forecaster Skymet, sky will remain partly cloudy and cold winds will continue chilling Delhi.

"There are no chances of rains, but temperature will remain low for next three days, due to western disturbance and cyclonic circulation over western Rajasthan," said its director Mahesh Palwat.
