New Delhi, March 17: Firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy and  All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday came face to face in debate on Zee India conclave. New Delhi, March 17: Firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy and  All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday came face to face in debate on Zee India conclave. The leaders expressed their views on slew of issues including Hindu-Muslim vote bank politics, UP bypolls and many more.

When asked about Hindu-Muslim vote bank politics, Owaisi said that Indian will never defy it. “There are 280 MPs in BJP , why twhrere is no single muslim MP or MLA in Gujarat,” Owaisi asked. He also accused PM Modi of betraying Muslims saying,”I congratulated only once to Modi because he got Muslim votes. Muslim have been ditched. Hindu vote bank is reality, Muslim vote bank is myth in our country.” (LIVE Coverage: Zee India Conclave)

On the other hand, BJP’s Swamy stated that it was mistake they gave tickets to only male Muslims. “BJP will now give tickets to Muslim women since a large number of them have out in the support of Narendra Modi government over the issue of triple talaq,” the BJP leader stated.

On being asked about BJP’s humiliating defeat in recently concluded Uttar Pradesh by-elections, Swamy said that the candidates were without consultation of CM Yogi Adityanath. On the other hand, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi took a dig at PM Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM saying, “Yogi and PM Modi must learn from the results.”

Talking about Telugu Desam Party (TDP) which pulled out of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday, Owaisi said, “TDP and Shiv Sena are not with BJP now as they (BJP) do not believe in consensus politics.”

Swamy said,”I don’t take TDP pull out from the biggest alliance seriously. Party workers were also in favour of breaking the alliance.” When asked about estranged ally Shiv Sena, Swamy asserted that they are upset with the ruling party but will never leave BJP.
