Sao Paulo  :   Colombian forward Miguel Borja, who scored a goal in Palmeiras's 2-0 win over Alianza Lima, said he was ready to "make history" and win the Copa Libertadores with his team.

"I'm very happy about everything that's happened, now we have to keep working. I want to make history here, to go come out a champion and I'm working toward that," the 25-year-old Borja told FoxSport Brasil after beating Alianza Lima in Copa Libertadores Group H action on Tuesday, reports Efe.

Borja, who has scored 13 goals in 2018, scored against the Peruvian club on a pass from Keno, beating goalkeeper Daniel Prieto.

The Palmeiras forward's start to this year contrasts with 2017, when he socred just 10 goals in 43 matches.

Palmeiras is the leader in Group H after having beaten Alianza Lima and Colombia's Barranquilla Junior.

The Brazilian club will have a few days to recover and prepare for the decisive match next Sunday against bitter rival Corinthians for the Paulista Championship, Brazil's most important regional tournament.
