Arsenal trounce West Ham 4-1 in EPL

London  : Arsenal stunned West Ham United 4-1 on Sunday in the English Premier League (EPL), ahead of their duel later this week with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals.

After a scoreless first half, Arsenal left-back Nacho Monreal scored his team's first goal six minutes into the second half, while Austria forward Marko Arnautovic brought West Ham their only goal of the match in the 64th minute, reports Efe.

In a blazing final ten minutes, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey added a second goal in the 82nd minute, while forward Alexandre Lacazette scored a brace in the 85th and 89th minutes.

Arsenal remain in the sixth place in the EPL standings with 57 points, while West Ham are in the 14th with 35 points.

This was the second-to-last home game for Arsenal's French coach Arsene Wenger, who on Friday announced he would leave the team at the end of the season after 22 years at the helm.

Arsenal are to host Atletico Madrid on Thursday.

Elsewhere in the EPL, 19th-placed Stoke City were held to a 1-1 draw against seventh-placed Burnley.

The first goal came from Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye in the 11th minute, while Burnley forward Ashley Barnes equalized in the 62nd.
