Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper, has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during his side's Indian Premier League match against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday (April 26).

As it was his first offence of the season, Kohli was penalised Rs 12 lakh under the IPLs Code of Conduct related to minimum over-rate offences.

Bangalore failed to defend 206 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium as Chennai rode on Ambati Rayudu (53-ball 82) and MS Dhoni's (34-ball 70*) heroics to clinch the Southern Derby by five wickets.

With four points under their name, Bangalore are currently placed sixth in the table, and will next take on Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.
