New Delhi, July 25 (IANS) The judiciary has given some landmark judgements in the past few months, due to which the trust of the people in the judicial system has improved, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday.

"Delhi government has always helped the judiciary with all it can. In the last few months, the judiciary has given some landmark judgements over some crucial issues. This has improved the trust of the people in the judiciary system," he said in his speech at the inauguration of a newly constructed building, equipped with microphones in each courtroom, at the Delhi High Court by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Supreme Court judges Madan B Lokur, A.K. Sikri, N.V. Ramana and S.K. Kaul along with Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal and Delhi High Court Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal were also present at the function.

The new block accommodates 15 courtrooms across four floors and nine Registrars' courts on the ground floor. This brings the existing number of courtrooms to 50 for judges and nine for Registrars.

It has 16 new chambers for judges and nine chambers for Registrars and additional workspace for judicial offices.

The building is designed to cater to the needs of differently-abled litigants and lawyers with tactile flooring and specially designed toilets for differently-abled people.
