Actor-politician Kamal Haasan, in February 2018, said he will soon quit acting and will spend all his time for his political career and work for the welfare of the people.

However, he surprised his fans by announcing that he is teaming up with director Shankar for Indian 2. He called Indian 2 will be his last film in his film career.

But going back on his words, in a recent event, Kamal Haasan said that he is planning to make a second part to his blockbuster film Devar Magan. Though it was welcomed by his fans, critics panned Kamal Haasan for not standing by his decision.

Now, Kamal Haasan has again announced that Indian 2 will be his last film. In an interview with a popular daily newspaper, he said, "Makkal Needhi Maiam will field candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu. I'll quit acting after the upcoming project Indian 2, the shooting of which is slated to start on December 14."

It is confirmed that Indian 2 will have Kajal Aggarwal in the lead female role. Other than Kamal Haasan, the film will also star another young hero in a pivotal role.

This would mean that Kamal Haasan will not be completing his multi-lingual film Sabash Naidu, a spin-off off based on Dasavatharam's character Balaram Nadiu. Kamal and crew have already shot a few portions of the film in US.

Kamal Haasan started acting as a child artist at the age of six. Over the decades, he became one of the finest actors and multi-talented personalities in India. His cinema journey is finally coming to an end with Indian 2.
