Mohammad Azharuddin to contest on trs ticket in secunderabad

Former cricket captain and former MP Azharuddin is all set to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and contest from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency in 2019 general election. TRS chief and CM K Chandrasekhara Rao has also positively considered this move. Rumours about Azharuddin joining the TRS were spread ahead of 2018 assembly election itself but that did not happen as the Congress leaders convinced Azharuddin at that time by giving him party working president post in Telangana.

But this time Azharuddin is very much interested in contesting from Secunderabad segment. The Congress is not ready to give this ticket to him and he is being asked to contest from Malkajgiri segment. Azharuddin has taken a decision not to wait any further and join the TRS ahead of the coming election.

For KCR, it is a single point agenda to win over top leaders from other parties and crush his rivals from within. TRS leaders are in upbeat mood following latest development. Azharuddin has expressed desire on his election plans to KCR when they met at the marriage function of MIM leader Asaduddin’s daughter recently. The TRS circles are rife with rumours that Azharuddin’s joining their party is now just a formality. Azharuddin has contested in LS elections from other states in the past but it is always his long time dream to contest from Secunderabad segment which going to be fulfilled now.
