Earthquake hits 8 in China

BEIJING:A major earthquake occurred on Thursday morning in Jinjiang province of China.Its intensity on the Richter scale was 5.4.Officials have identified the earthquake center in the town of Kashgar.Nearly 180 homes have landed in the earthquake.Eight people were stuck under debris and 11 people were seriously injured.Over 700 people have been homeless.

The rescue staff immediately took up the help.The victims were shifted to the local hospitals for treatment. Getting caught under ruins.Officials said the death toll would increase.In 2003,a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in the same province killed 268 people.Though earthquakes are common in China,they can not forget the 2008 earthquake.Because of the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Sichuan province then thousands of lives were lost.
