CFSI chief wins 'Edutainment Award' at education expo

Mumbai, May 20 : Children's Film Society of India CEO Shravan Kumar has been conferred the 'Edutainment Award' of Event Capital, India's biggest education expo and students conclave, an official said here on Saturday.

Kumar was given the award for outstanding contribution to children's education films at a glittering function held on Friday night here.

"The CFSI makes children's films which not only educate the young minds but also ignite creativity in them. For instance, two years ago, at the CFSI Hyderabad Film Festival in Telangana, we had introduced a section 'Little Director' exhibiting films made only by the children," Kumar said.

He said CFSI is organising national and international film fests for the children hoping that they would be inspired to become great film makers in the future and share their creativity through the medium of films.

Others who were felicitated at the awards night include advertising personality Prahlad Kakkar, media personality Yogesh Lakhani and RK University, Hyderabad's Director Ujjwal K. Chowdhary.

Prominent speakers at the ceremony included filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, who discussed Media and Films, fashion designer Nishka Lulla, who provided tips on Entrepreneurship in Fashion, casting director Mukhesh Chhabra, well-known photographer Jitu Salvani and Event Capital CEO Swaroop Banerjee among others.

The 'Edutainment Show', hosted by Event Capital, is the country's biggest education expo, which helps students pursue careers in media and design, provides career counselling, admission information and interaction with experts through talks, discussions and workshops.
