Seven people were killed in Maharashtra as driver was sleeping

Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), May 24: Seven people were killed when a divorter broke into a vehicle near Bungurah in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The vehicle heading towards Arunabababad died four hours and was shifted to Ahmed Nagar. All the victims killed were fast asleep in the vehicle, while the driver of the truck fled the scene of the accident, which took place on the busy Ahmednagar-Aurangabad highway.

As per preliminary investigations, Kanawade said the jeep driver had apparently dozed off at the wheel as the speeding vehicle climbed onto the road divider. It then collided head-on with the truck coming in from the opposite direction. "The mangled remains of the accident jeep and the companies we have not been able to identify any of the victims so far, is very gruesome with, from where they are or where they headed, "added Kanawade. The police started searching for a truck driver who escaped.
