PM Modi addressed the nation today at 10 am on 1 billion vaccination doses milestone. This is his 10th address to the nation since March, 2020. His first address to the nation was on March 19, 2020 about imposing Janta curfew and surging COVID-19 cases. 


Modi congratulates every citizen of the country on the triumph. He tweeted on October 21, 2021 at 10.34 am saying


 "India scripts history. 


 


We are witnessing the triumph of Indian science, enterprise and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians. 


 


Congrats India on crossing 100 crore vaccinations. Gratitude to our doctors, nurses and all those who worked to achieve this feat. #VaccineCentury"


India on Thursday administered 1 billion vaccination doses including first and second doses. India is the second country to reach 1 billion after China. Vaccination drive in India started on Jan 16, 2021. 75% of the eligible population have taken the first dose. Following the triumph, reactions poured in from all over the globe congratulating PM Modi and the govt of India. 


He futher said that, this triumph was an answer to all the people who criticized India's inoculation drive. 


 


He further urged all the Indians to buy and encourage Made in India products stating - 'Vocal for Local'. 


He advised the people who aren't vaccinated yet to get their vaccination doses and the people who got their jabs to encourage the others to do so. He apprised that masks are still necessary and to make them a daily habit. He concluded his speech by greeting and wishing the nation on the upcoming festivals and to be safe and cautious during those.
