Shimla, June 12 (suryaa) The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Monday sought within two days a status report from G.R. Infra Ltd. on the progress of the four-laning of the national highway between Parwanoo and Solan towns.
A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed the order on a petition of Kuldeep Singh of Dharampur town.
Chauhan has challenged the National Highway Authority of India's (NHAI) notice to locals for removal of unauthorised constructions along the National Highway 5 (earlier known as National Highway 22).
The matter has been listed for further hearing on June 15.
The court, however, expressed satisfaction with the progress with regard to construction and widening of the highway.
Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on June 5 last year laid foundation stones for three mega road projects worth Rs 2,655 crore on the 89-km-long Parwanoo-Shimla national highway.
He laid three projects are for four-laning of the Parwanoo-Solan highway and Solan-Kaithalighat block, and Shimla bypass road.
