Lusaka, Dec 22 (IANS) At least 56 people were seriously injured when a military bus carrying them crashed into a stationary minibus in the Zambian capital Lusaka, local police said.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the accident happened early Tuesday when the driver of the military bus misjudged clearance and rammed into the minibus, Xinhua news agency reported.
Road traffic accidents are common in the African country. The southern African nation witnessed more than 8,000 road traffic accidents in the third quarter of 2021, which resulted in 585 deaths and 3,561 injuries, according to police figures.
