The Country is suffering from a cold wave, especially in several states in northern India. Mahesh Palawat, vice-president of meteorology and climate change, said on Wednesday that "at 4.4 degrees in Delhi, it will be 5.4 degrees colder than Shimla. The reason may be clear skies over Delhi and partly cloudy skies over Shimla."
However, the winters in Delhi eased slightly on Wednesday as the icy northwesterly winds slowed down due to western disturbances affecting northwestern India. Meteorological department officials said there was a possibility of relief from the cold snap in the coming days.
