UNHCR, FC Barcelona foundation launch campaign for refugee kids

Abidjan, June 14: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and FC Barcelona Foundation have announced an extensive joint campaign to mobilise support for refugee children.

Launched on Tuesday with the support of the star players of the football club, the #SignAndPass campaign marks the start of a major cooperation between the two organisations. 

Lionel Messi and Neymar Junior were the first FC Barcelona players to commit to the refugees and support the campaign in an exclusive video. 

The "Sign and Pass" campaign is inspired by Barcelona's famous gaming philosophy -- a touch, a pass -- that is behind its recent successes. 

Fans can digitally sign an online football and pass it to their friends via social networks. 

By signing the ball, the fans add their name to the petition #African refugees from UNHCR, calling on governments around the world and citizens to ensure that all refugees live in a safe place and receive education.
