Another key step forward in the Indian vaccination process. Needless to say, the only weapon we have to end the corona epidemic is the vaccine. It is in this context that vaccination is currently available in our country only for those over 18 years of age. However, the DCGI has recently taken a key decision to allow the vaccine to be available to those aged 12 to 18 years.

The Covaxin vaccine, developed by the Indian Biotech Company, is approved for emergency use by 12-18 year olds. This seems to be another step towards ending the corona. And now it is known that the new variant of the corona, the Omicron, is once again frightening the world. The number of omicron cases is increasing day by day. With this, the governments are also on alert again.

Many countries have already started booster doses in this context. The latest in this series is the Serum Institute of India developing this booster dose. It will be made available under the name Covishield Booster Dose. It is learned that the owners of the Serum Institute had sent proposals to the Drug Controller General a few days back to grant the necessary clearances for this.
