Surging Cases Yet 90% Vacant Covid-19 Beds in Maharashtra

Maharashtra is once again in worrying state. The number of active cases is on the rise. The State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the active cases rode by 1051 on Tuesday.

Even with the rising covid-19 cases, nearly 90% of the beds reserved for Covid-19 patients are vacant. The cases in Maharashtra have increased by 150%. BMC's data shows 13,789 out of the 15,278 covid-19 beds were vacant in the city till Monday.

There are 167 omicron cases in Maharashtra of which 90 have been discharged. Rajesh Tope said that the state needs to think of imposing restrictions to control crowds in public transport, wedding ceremonies etc.
