Police Restrictions on New Year celebrations in AP and Telangana

Telangana and AP police have issued restrictions on New Year celebrations. DGPs of both the states have warned that those violating the sanctions will face severe punishment. Police advised people to hold celebrations at home. People are strictly not allowed to celebrate near Visakhapatnam beach area.

Restrictions imposed by the police...
1. DJs, mics and orchestras are not allowed at the ceremony. Strict measures if you put mics and dance in the squares of villages and towns.
2. Cutting cakes and setting off fireworks on the roads is prohibited. If a complaint is received about noise pollution they will be immediately detained.
3. Illicit drinking and sitting in public places is prohibited, if appearing in groups, will be arrested.
4. Everything must follow the mask and physical distancing protocol.
5. Police will be on patrol from 6pm today. Management of contingency drunk and drives. If caught drinking alcohol for the first time Rs. 10 thousand fine or 6 months imprisonment will be imposed.
6. A fine of Rs 15,000 or imprisonment for 2 years and revocation of a driving license if caught drinking alcohol a second time.
7. Police checks in villages, towns and cities from 6pm today to Saturday morning.
8. Flyovers will be closed from 11pm to 5am today(Dec 31).
9. Vehicle documents and uniform is a must if you are going to companies/offices.
10. Cab and auto drivers will be fined if caught drunk and driving.
11. Pub owners will be held accountable for driving under the influence of alcohol.
12. Penalty for the minor as well as the owner if the minor drives the vehicle.
13. She teams will patrol to help in case of any difficulty for women.
14. Police said that if anyone is bothering people, they should immediately call Dial 100 and lodge a complaint.
