Anantapur: Municipal officials have said that although the people's representatives have decided on programs related to government schemes, it is not appropriate to err on the side of authority. The Municipal Council meeting was chaired by Chairperson Indraja. At a council meeting last month, the council set a four-point agenda that was temporarily postponed.

On the occasion, 33rd Ward Councilor Shiva said that the amount of pension has been increased as per the assurance given by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. To inform the public about the YSR Pension, it has been decided to hold weekly festivities from the 1st of this month. But officials said they were only held for name sake. On this, Municipal Commissioner Venkateswara Rao, Municipal Technical Officer, Bandi Anandraju, State Leader of Municipal Employees, said that it was not right to blame the authorities even on the decisions made by the public representatives.

If anyone wants to accuse the municipal authorities of this, they should first give notice to the chairperson. Councilor Shiva said that in the past when he was in the Opposition the then ruling party had filed cases against them but it was sad to be in power and file cases against them even if they spoke in the Council on public issues. Afterwards, the chairperson said that the town development authorities and the people's representatives should work in coordination and take the town on the path of development. The event was attended by Vice Chairmen Balaram Reddy, Jabiullah and municipal officials.
