Ghaziabad, July 9: Almost 51,000 saplings were planted across the city on Sunday as part of the monsoon drive launched by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) in association with the Municipal Corporation and the district administration.
GDA Secretary Ravendra Madhukar Godbole said the plantation programme covered 35 spots across the city.
District Magistrate Ministhy S. Nair, GDA Vice-Chairperson Kanchan Verma and Municipal Commissioner C.P. Singh, Uttar Pradesh Minister Atul Garg, and Mayor Ashu Verma were present on the occasion.
Volunteers from as many as 22 non-governmental organisations, Rotary Club, and Lions Club participated in planting.
