New Delhi, July 18 (SURYAA): Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday launched a career counselling and guidance scheme aimed at benefiting around 4 lakh students of government schools in the city.

"Four lakh students studying in Class 10, 11 and 12 of around 1,100 Delhi government schools will be going through a psychometric career assessment test, followed by one-on-one guidance/counselling from an Educational and Vocational Guidance Counsellor (EVGC) in their schools," Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio, told reporters here.

He said this was the first of its kind effort towards "extreme care" of students in government schools.

"Counselling is usually not done on such a big scale in any state government school and even only 3 per cent of private schools do counselling of their students. This is the biggest career counselling scheme in government schools," the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said.

The scheme which will be implemented by iDreamCareer.com (iDC) with support from UNDP India and Central Square Foundation.

Every student will get an online personalized career guidance dashboard where the student can access information on 500 plus careers and 350 plus entrance exams.

All the 480 counsellors in EVGC bureau of DoE will be trained and they will also be getting an online counsellor dashboard so as to access student's report, access career information and chat with their mapped school student.
