Doha (Aug 9) : Qatar said that a new programme is being started to allow visa-free entry for citizens of about 80 countries, in order to encourage the country's air transport and tourism sector.
Nationals from many countries of Europe and elsewhere including India, Lebanon, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States only need to present a valid passport to enter the country Qatar.
"The visa exemption scheme will make Qatar the most open country in the region," Hassan al-Ibrahim, Chief Tourism Development officer at Qatar Tourism Authority informed.
Nationals of about 33 countries will be allowed to stay here for a total of 180 days and the other 47 for up to 30 days.
