Kolkata, Sep 15 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that her government would spend Rs 12,180 crore for infrastructure development in addition to budgetary allocation of about Rs 20,155 crore in 2017-18 for the purpose.
The additional amount would be spent for the setting up of water projects, and electrification and construction of roads, bridges, flyovers and warehouses for storage of foodgrains in the next two to three years.
Of the total additional amount, Rs 6,195 crore has been allocated to the Public Works Department for undertaking various projects while Urban Development and Municipal Affairs would spend Rs 2,862 crore.
The Power Department was allocated Rs 2,273 crore for its projects.
