Bhubaneswar, Sep 27 : Train movement was affected after 16 coaches of a fertiliser-laden goods train derailed near Nergundi station in Odisha's Cuttack district on Wednesday, officials informed.

The mishap occurred at around 4 a.m. However, there was no casualty or injuries, said an official from East Coast Railway (EcoR).

The goods train was coming from Gangavaram port in Andhra Pradesh to Haibargaon in Assam loaded with fertiliser products.

The EcoR, however, said the train movement would not hamper much as trains will run on an alternate route available via Barang/Kapilas road bypassing Cuttack station.

Several local passenger trains passing through the line have also been cancelled.
