Washington : US President Donald Trump spoke to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron over the phone and discussed the Korean Peninsula and Iran, according to the White House.
Trump updated Macron on the developments of the situation on the Peninsula, underscoring the "international resolve to achieve the complete denuclearisation" of the Peninsula, Xinhua news agency quoted the White House as saying.
The two leaders also talked about the demonstrations in Iran.
Iran had earlier blasted the US' stance on the demonstrations in the country, with its Ambassador to the UN Gholamali Khoshroo slamming the Trump administration's attempts to intervene in the domestic affairs of the Islamic Republic.
Trump on Saturday said that he was willing to talk with Kim Jong Un and that he supports the upcoming talks between the two Koreas slated to take place on Tuesday.
