Kiev, May 12 (IANS) Kiev has spent 870,000 euros (about $1.03 million) on the preparations for UEFA Champions League final, the local media reported on Friday.
The match between Real Madrid and Liverpool will be held on May 26, attracting an estimated 60,000 foreign fans to Kiev, reports Xinhua news agency.
According to the reports, the lion share of the funds went for improving infrastructure and boosting the security in the city and especially around the Olympic stadium, the venue of the game.
The Ukrainian central bank expected the Champions League final to give a financial boost of between $15 and $20 million to Kiev businesses.
