Vote for TRS to strengthen KCR: KTR

Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday cautioned the Telangana Congress leaders that they can expect seats from their party president Rahul Gandhi, notes (funding) from TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, but must remember that votes come from people of Telangana.

He cautioned people to cast their vote wisely, failing which the resources of Telangana would be controlled once again by those sitting in Delhi and Amaravati. The Minister was addressing scores of Congress, BJP and MRPS leaders who joined TRS at Telangana Bhavan here.

TPCC executive committee member Enugu Manohar Reddy, Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank director Velichala Tirumala Rao, BJP Kisan Morcha leader Tirupati Reddy and MRPS Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency leaders along with their followers joined TRS on the occasion.

Welcoming them into the TRS party fold, Rama Rao recalled that undivided Karimnagar district gave birth to TRS and became lifeline by infusing fresh breath into separate Telangana movement repeatedly. He urged people to vote for TRS and fuel the growth rate of the State by ensuring victory for Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. “Vote for Congress will go to Delhi and vote for TDP will go to Amaravati. But a vote for TRS would strengthen the arms of the Chief Minister to carry forward the welfare and development programmes,” he said.

Rama Rao said though the United Nations had recognised the revolutionary reforms of the State government and invited the officials to give presentation on novel schemes such as Rythu Bandu, the Congress and the rest of the Opposition chose to turn blind eye to the welfare and development in the State. He listed out various welfare programmes implemented by the TRS government in the past four and half years and promised to implement the partial manifesto released by the party recently.

The Minister said the TRS government completed Mid Manair and changed the face of villages such as Kodurupaka and Shabashpalle, while 40,000 acres were brought under cultivation in Vemulawada constituency. He reminded that Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao sanctioned Rs 130 crore for construction of a lift irrigation scheme to supply water to tail-end villages in the constituency.

“The Chief Minister infused confidence and extended support to farmers. The TRS government is implementing numerous schemes for people that will be beneficial from their birth to death,” he added.

Infighting in Prajakutami

Pointing out at the in-fight within the Prajakutami, Rama Rao said that the Opposition parties have set aside their decades long rivalry and buried their ideologies with the sole aim to dethrone Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao and claim power in the State. He reiterated that Chandrababu Naidu was trying to enter into Telangana State again through backdoor using Congress party as a tool. He recalled that Naidu wrote over 30 letters to create obstacles for various irrigation projects in Telangana State and one could imagine their fate, if Prajakutami comes to power.

“Telangana Congress leaders have become puppets in the hands of their Delhi and Amaravati bosses. While Naidu is deciding the Congress nominees from Amaravati, the TPCC leaders have remained mute spectators. No wonder when the Prajakutami government, if voted to power, will issue GOs (government orders) from Amaravati,” he said. He quoted the Congress aspirants from Rangareddy who exposed audio-tapes where the Congress leaders demanded Rs 3 crore for the MLA ticket ignoring their good work within the party and asked people to be cautious before voting to such parties.

Rama Rao said Telangana Jana Samithi president M Kodandaram was being used as a curry leaf by the Congress-TDP alliance. He said Kodandaram fell into the trap of the Congress which had given him a bare hand and went back on its word to field him from Jangaon. He said TJS which planned to contest from 119 constituencies, was downsized and restricted to less than 10 seats.

Pointing out at the indecisiveness of the Prajakutami members over seat-sharing, the Minister said it took nearly 75 days for four people to distribute 40 seats among themselves and one could imagine the fate of the State when the coalition government gets formed. “For the last 75 days, we are listening to the same news repeatedly about the Prajakutami in the media over seat-sharing. The meetings to decide seat-sharing have been never-ending,” he added.

He said while Telangana Bhavan was witnessing huge influx of leaders from other parties, Gandhi Bhavan was being safeguarded by private armies. He said bouncers who stand guard at bars and pubs, were deployed at Gandhi Bhavan and the residence of TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, which was a positive indication for TRS party’s victory in upcoming elections.

Rama Rao said the Andhra leaders defamed Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple by creating rumours that politicians who visited the temple would lose their post. “But Chief Minister Chadrashekhar Rao who is a staunch devotee, proved them wrong and took measures to develop the temple. It is high time for people to decide whether to support those who had stolen the temple property or to Chandrashekhar Rao who was developing the temple town with Rs 100 crore,” he added.

The Minister recalled his association with Enugu Manohar Reddy since the former joined seperate Telangana movement and stated that Manohar Reddy worked hard in Congress for over 25 years, but was ignored when it came to posts. He assured that TRS would honour him appropriately in future.

Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar, TRS nominees Chennamaneni Ramesh and Sunke Ravishankar, TRS MLC M Srinivas Reddy, and other leaders were present.
